The Archeological Museum of Turin is a chest filled with precious archeological finds that date back to the prehistorical and medieval period and is organized in two different sections. The first one, dedicated to Piemontese Territory, with his itinerary recreating a stratigraphic archeological excavation where the visitor can learn something about the ancient Piedmont history, from the neolithic green stone artifacts to the bronze sculptures of the sanctuary-city Industria, from the mysterious Marengo Treasure (golden silver objects of I and II century a.C.-III century b.C.) to the Longobardic necropolis.

The second section is for the Collections. The first nucleus has been collected by savoy Family since XVI century, and then the collection has been increased by donations and acquisitions. It is located in the Royal Palace’s Greenhouses and includes Cyprus sculptures and ceramics, bucchero made vases and cinerary urns from Etruria, black and red decorated ceramics from Greece and Greek-Roman sculptures.

A third section of the museum, reserved to archeological finds of Turin, will be soon inaugurated in the Royal Palace’s New Wing. There will be possible to admire the remaining of the Augusta Taurinorum’s roman theater.
