This small town, 15 km far from Torino, preserves all the fascination of its medieval past: the Collegiate Church of Santa Maria della Scala with its beautiful Baptistery, the San Domenico’s Church, the Jewish Ghetto, the S. Giorgio’s “Chiocciola”. In Chieri also worked the artist Guglielmo Caccia also known as Moncalvo (1568-1625), one of the most important of the Counter-reformation period, and studied San Giovanni Bosco.
Originating city of the “grissini rubatà”, a typical Italian bread, and of the Freisa wine, it’s two steps away from the Enological and Historical Museum Martini e Rossi, from Castelnuovo Don Bosco and from the Santa Maria di Vezzolano Abbey.
